It seems like the notion of re-releasing 'Lights' has been around for quite a while but has never materialised, until now that is. After debate and delays about the release of iTunes bonus track 'Lights' as a single, it seems that a lot has changed and the plan for that is no more, even though there was a video filmed. We hope Ellie makes good use of that, we'd love to see it!
'Your Song', a cover of Elton John's classic will be the latest single from our favourite guitar-bearing popstar as featured on the John Lewis adverts. It's accompanied by a beautiful, hearthealt and somewhat documentary styled video. The gently sung version of the song perfectly sets the mood for the wintery weather and of course the ever so nearing Christmas season.
We think you'll be more than happy to know that the re-packaged version of the former number 1 album will include 5 new tracks. 'Little Dreams' being one we're excited for due to it being leaked via Youtube earlier this year...we were infatuated with it!
Ellie has previously spoken about wanting to make her next musical venture more technical and along the lines of 'Salt Skin'. Though this isn't her new album it features multiple unreleased tracks. It seems like only yesterday that 'Lights' was receiving critical acclaim back in May, but the new re-packaged and re-released version should encompass the depth and animosity required for her musical appetite.
To date, there's been but a whisper of the new release and because of this there's very little known about the very mysterious additional tracks. All we know is that the material she's made in the past was phenomenal, therefore it's safe to assume the new installment will be just as outstanding.
'Bright Lights' will be out on the 29th November 2010.
