Sound of Guns - Alcatraz Review

Alcatraz

Sound of Guns

Release Date: 15th Mar, 2010
Label: Distiller Records
Genre: Rock

Having been tipped by radio luminaries Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq, this Liverpool group pride themselves on not sounding like the typical bands from the city. It’s certainly true that the two upbeat anthems shown here (lead track ‘Alcatraz’ and B-side ‘Knots’) are evidence of this. Currently awaiting the release of their debut album later this year, it will be interesting to hear if the positive feedback they have garnered so far can translate to a full-length effort. I’m certain many a live festival will be securing their signatures this summer, being as they are a hot group to look out for in the near future.
