Grambo - Music Makers EP Review

Music Makers EP

Grambo

Release Date: 6th Feb, 2010
Label: Independent
Genre: Rock

A new unsigned band from the Isle of Man, who release this demo EP in the wake of them winning the Island’s 2009 Battle of the Bands contest. Sounding refreshingly accomplished considering it was done without the use of a professional studio, these five tracks are breezy, confident efforts. Consisting of drummer/vocalist Matt Feeney, bassist Lewis Thomson and vocalist/guitarist Rob Millar, the band are set to perform numerous gigs over the coming few months, which look to be well worth investigating. The stand-out track for me here has to be ‘97’, with its David Gray style leanings, its infinitely listenable stuff. This EP is a great showcase for the band’s mellow rock style, and is recommended to any Isle of Man citizens with even a passing interest in good music. Let’s hope their material gets a wider release sometime soon.
