Fly Yellow Moon
Fyfe Dangerfield
The exquisitely named Guillemots front-man takes some time out to deliver a solo album, and it’s one to certainly remove the gloom of the winter we’re trapped in at the moment. Opener ‘When You Walk In The Room’, with its bursts of electric guitar and uplifting chorus bear well for the rest of the album. The evocative piano ballad ‘Barricades’ brings forth the more emotive side of bands like Coldplay and Embrace, but folk-style tracks like ‘High Wire’, ‘High On The Tide’ and the yearning ‘Faster Than The Setting Sun’ are classics in waiting, as is the single ‘She Needs Me’ (complete with full-blown ELO-style strings! Try not humming ‘Livin’ Thing’ after hearing this...) All of which deserve to cement Dangerfield as one of the most talented (and undervalued) young songwriters around at the moment.

This album is totally addictive! Since the first listening it's still growing up on me, every song just gets better and better. :)
amazing voice
Without a doubt, one of the best albums of the year. This is up there with "Through The Windowpane." Just amazing!
