Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you The Kayas.....

Please take a minute out of your busy schedules to check the video for the debut single from a fab new act called The Kayas

Harking back to Oasis, Blur and the golden age of Britpop, and with a firm belief in 'proper' good old fashioned song writing, recording and performance, the Kayas come through with a unique sound that looks to provide a refreshing alternative to much over-processed contemporary chart music (something we are all sick and tired of....)

Enjoy !!

http://www.thekayas.com/ http://www.myspace.com/thekayastunes http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/The-Kayas/35046312652?ref=nf Three-piece Indie/Rock band The Kayas are set to take 2010 by storm. One of the top live acts to break out of Shropshire in recent years, the band was formed in 2007 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Ad Edwards. Quickly establishing itself as a hard-working touring band, The Kayas spent 2008 playing all over the UK, gaining thousands of live and online fans in the process. The band recorded several demos at Forge Studios in Oswestry, under the watchful eye of Phil Beaumont (Forge Management), before gaining their first professional support slot on tour with ex-It Bites front man Francis Dunnery. Following some initial changes to the band line-up, Ad was joined by Tomos Jarvis on Drums and Philie Jones on bass – a winning combination that has established The Kayas’ “signature sound” and gained the respect of producers, radio stations, fellow artists and fans along the way. Towards the end of 2008, The Kayas were joined by former Stone Roses guitarist Aziz Ibrahim, who also featured on one of the band’s most popular anthems “Chavtastic”, hotly tipped by Jim Gellatly (BBC Radio Scotland) and included on his podcast. The song has also featured on BBC Radio Wales and gained regular airplay on BBC Radio Shropshire, where The Kayas have played two live sessions in the studio. With Aziz on board, the band have toured solidly throughout 2009, including support slots for The Twang, The Sunshine Underground and Twisted Wheel. The new decade is already looking rosy for The Kayas, with two songs from the BBC Shropshire sessions featured on Tom Robinson’s BBC Radio 6 Music show in January and more live dates with Twisted Wheel (including Academy 3, Birmingham on February 11th), The Kayas will take the main stage at OSFEST, along with Reverend and the Makers and The Holloways.
